Soils of the West Usambara Mountains, Tanzania

We collaborated with an international and multi-institutional group of collaborators in a project synthesizing novel and legacy soil data to better understand the drivers of soil property distributions and soil diversity in the West Usambara mountains of northern Tanzania to serve as a foundation for improved soil mapping efforts in the region.

Soils of Long-Term Agronomic Trials in Nayabeda, Kenya

In collaboration with scientists at ICRAF (World Agroforestry Center) and CIAT (International Center for Tropical Agriculture), we investigated and characterized soils in long-running agronomic trials to understand the impact of soil properties on phosphorous dynamics.

Soils of Sankuru Province, DRC

In collaboration with the University of Tshumbe in Sankuru Province, DRC, Esakakondo (Al) Lohese is investigating and characterizing soils across a steep climatic and vegetation gradient for improved soil mapping and agricultural management solutions.
